Day wise travel itinerary

Your journey begins in Indore, a city where tradition and modernity meet. After arriving at the railway station or airport, check in and freshen up. The day’s explorations take you to Lalbagh Palace — once the opulent residence of the Holkar rulers, the shimmering Kaanch Mandir, and the grand Rajwada Palace. End the evening sampling street food at Chappan Dukan, a paradise for culinary enthusiasts. Overnight in Indore.

After breakfast, the road leads to Mandu — a city of love and legends. Check in and set off to explore the elegant Rani Roopmati Pavilion, the dreamy Jahaz Mahal (Ship Palace) floating between two lakes, and the remarkable Hindola Mahal with its sloping walls. Visit Hoshang Shah’s Tomb, Jama Masjid, the serene Neelkanth Temple, and pause at Eco Point for sweeping views. Overnight in Mandu.

A morning drive takes you to Omkareshwar, an island shaped like the sacred “Om” symbol. Visit the revered Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, along with Ganeshji Mandir, Harsiddhi Temple, and Sandipani Ashram. The gentle river breeze and chants of pilgrims make the evening unforgettable. Overnight in Omkareshwar.

Post breakfast, head to Ujjain, one of Hinduism’s holiest cities. Explore Ganeshji Mandir, Harsiddhi Temple, and the peaceful Sandipani Ashram. Overnight stay in Ujjain.

Rise early (4 AM) for the soul-stirring Bhasma Aarti at Mahakaleshwar Temple — a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual experience. After breakfast, drive to Bhopal. Time permitting, visit the Upper and Lower Lakes, and take an evening trip to the UNESCO-listed Sanchi Stupa, a marvel of Buddhist architecture. Overnight in Bhopal.

Leave Bhopal for Pachmarhi, with two remarkable stops along the way: the ancient rock paintings of Bhimbetka and the riverside Bhojpur Temple. As the road climbs into the Satpura hills, Pachmarhi greets you with cool air and forested slopes. Overnight in Pachmarhi.

Spend the day exploring Pachmarhi’s highlights: the sacred Jata Shankar Cave, the dramatic Handi Khoh gorge, panoramic Priyadarshini Point, and the cave temples of Mahadev and Gupt Mahadev. Visit Amba Mai Temple and the colonial-era Begum Palace before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Pachmarhi.

Today’s drive takes you deep into Kanha National Park — a lush kingdom of sal forests, meadows, and rivers, immortalized in Kipling’s The Jungle Book. After check-in, enjoy the evening at leisure, perhaps with a short nature walk. Overnight in Kanha.

At dawn, venture into the park on an open gypsy safari. Watch for the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger, the rare Hard Ground Barasingha, wild dogs, and more than 200 bird species. Return for lunch and rest, with an optional evening cultural program at the lodge. Overnight in Kanha.

A final morning safari gives you another chance to spot Kanha’s wild residents. After breakfast, depart for Jabalpur. En route, stop at Bargi Dam for scenic views. Overnight in Jabalpur.

Begin the day with Jabalpur’s wonders: the balancing act of Balancing Rock, the serenity of Pisanhari Ki Madiya, the roaring Dhuandhar Falls, and a boat ride through the gleaming Marble Rocks at Bhedaghat. Visit the Chausath Yogini Temple before driving to Khajuraho for an evening light & sound show. Overnight in Khajuraho.

Spend the day immersed in the artistry of Khajuraho’s temples — from the iconic Western Group with their intricate sculptures to the Eastern Group’s Jain masterpieces. These UNESCO-listed monuments are a celebration of life, love, and devotion carved in stone. Overnight in Khajuraho.

Drive to Orchha, a medieval town on the banks of the Betwa River. Explore Phoolbagh gardens, the imposing Orchha Fort, Laxminarayan Temple, and the unique Raja Ram Temple. Optional: experience river rafting on the Betwa. Overnight in Orchha.

En route to Gwalior, stop at Jhansi Fort — a symbol of valour and resistance. In Gwalior, settle in for the night.

Today is dedicated to Gwalior’s treasures: the hilltop Gwalior Fort with its blue-tiled façade, the elegant Jai Vilas Palace, ancient Sas Bahu Temple, and serene Suraj Kund. Overnight in Gwalior.

After breakfast, transfer to Gwalior Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying with you a tapestry of memories — from tiger roars to temple bells, from palace halls to mountain breezes.
