Swiss Icons by Rail – 10 Days
Day wise travel itinerary
Train ~1h15. Settle in, then choose your pace:
● Swiss Museum of Transport (family-favorite; planetarium + Swiss Chocolate Adventure), or
● Old Town walk: Chapel Bridge, Weinmarkt façades, Town Hall, St. Peter’s Chapel, Lion Monument, lakeside promenade, chocolatiers, or
● Mt. Pilatus Golden Round Trip (boat to Alpnachstad → world’s steepest cogwheel → cableways to Kriens → bus to Lucerne). Note: small reservation fee on the cogwheel (May–Nov).
Train 45 min to Engelberg, then gondolas + Titlis Rotair to the summit. Up top: Ice Flyer, Glacier Cave, Cliff Walk. Lunch with views; stroll Engelberg village before returning.
Take the Lucerne–Interlaken Express (~2h). Drop bags, then ascend Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe via either:
● Classic rail: Interlaken Ost → Lauterbrunnen → Kleine Scheidegg → Jungfraujoch (scenic photo stops in-tunnel), or
● Eiger Express route: train to Grindelwald → gondola to Eiger Glacier → cogwheel to the top (fastest).
At the summit: Sphinx Terrace, Ice Palace, Aletsch Glacier views, Lindt shop. Option stops in Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen (detour to Trümmelbach Falls; age limits apply).
Ride the GoldenPass to Gstaad (storybook chalets, luxe boutiques), continue to Montreux (lake promenade, Freddie Mercury statue), and tour Chillon Castle. Return by evening.
~2h10 by train. Zermatt is car-free: walk or hotel e-taxi to your stay. Ascend Matterhorn Glacier Paradise for the 360° deck & Glacier Palace (optional “crystal” cabin; prebook). New Alpine Crossing to Cervinia (Italy) optional, season-dependent.
Stroll Hinterdorf (old barns & chalets), visit the Matterhorn Museum, wander the Gorner Gorge (summer), then ride the funicular to Sunnegga for classic Matterhorn frames (Wolli Park, marmot trail in season).
All aboard the “slowest express” (panoramic windows, 291 bridges/91 tunnels). Reserve seats (incl. Excellence Class option). Arrive St. Moritz: lakeside walk, spa time, alpine glamour.
UNESCO-listed route over dramatic viaducts to Tirano (~2h15), then Bernina bus to Lugano (~3h). Compulsory reservations for both legs; align times (typical combo ~09:17 → 11:32 train, 14:20 → 17:30 bus). Evening passeggiata on Piazza Riforma.
Direct train ~45 min to Como (ticket not covered by Swiss Travel Pass). Boat/bus to Bellagio (“Pearl of the Lake”), silk shopping, villa gardens. Return to Lugano.
● Option Zurich (~2h by train): if time permits, detour to Rhine Falls for boat ride to the rock.
● Option Milan (~1h20 to Milano Centrale) for onward flights.

Cancellation Policy
- 30+ days before departure: 25% of the package cost.
- 15–29 days before departure: 50% of the package cost.
- Less than 15 days: 100% of the package cost.
- No refund for unused services or last-minute cancellations.
