Day wise travel itinerary
Lucerne
Check in and unwrap Lucerne’s Old Town: painted façades around Weinmarkt, riverside cafés, and the Chapel Bridge & Water Tower. Pay respects at the moving Lion Monument, then unwind on a Lake Lucerne sunset cruise.
Choose your mountain:
● Mt Titlis (Engelberg + Rotair) – glacier cave, Ice Flyer, Cliff Walk.
● Mt Pilatus (gondola/ cogwheel) – world’s steepest cogwheel railway (summer), trails, viewpoints.
● Mt Rigi (boat + cogwheel) – “Queen of the Mountains” with sweeping lake panoramas.
Return for lakeside dinner and evening stroll along the Reuss.
Interlaken
Ride the funicular to Harder Kulm for the Two Lakes Bridge and Eiger–Mönch–Jungfrau views. Later, cruise Lake Thun to Thun or Lake Brienz to Brienz (think turquoise water, cliffy shores, tiny villages).
Interlaken
Ascend via Eiger Express + Jungfraubahn to Europe’s highest rail station. Walk the Ice Palace, step out to the Sphinx Terrace, and gaze across the Aletsch Glacier. On the way back, pause in Wengen or Lauterbrunnen (72 waterfalls!).
● Grindelwald First – First Cliff Walk, zipline, mountain carts, gentle hikes.
● Schilthorn (Piz Gloria) – 360° Bond-famous summit, skyline walk, stop in car-free Mürren.
(Feeling bold? Swap for tandem paragliding over the lakes.)
Zermatt
Park at Täsch (Zermatt is car-free) and shuttle in. Afternoon summit choice:
● Gornergrat Cogwheel for classic Matterhorn vistas and glacier panoramas, or
● Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (Europe’s highest cable car station), glacier palace, 360° viewing deck.
*Car drivers load the vehicle onto the Lötschberg car-train (~10 minutes in tunnel).
If time allows, a village wander and last Matterhorn peek. Return to Zurich for a quick Old Town/Lindenhof loop before your flight. Fly home with Swiss-size memories.
